ROOT CANALS

A root canal is a treatment for a tooth that is severely cracked or damaged, and the pulp on the inside of the tooth has become inflamed, infected, diseased or dead. The pulp chamber is the hollow part in the center of the tooth that consists of nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissues, and it continues down canals that extend through the roots of teeth into the jawbone. Some teeth have roots with more than one root canal, but all teeth have at least one root canal.
